A Beekeeper in a Magical World

Chapter 186: Karen's Choice

Chapter 186: Karen's Choice

The black waves cascading down, resplendent court attire, a handsome face, and eyes that held a hint of foolishness.

No doubt it was the Second Prince, His Highness Brad.

Though they'd only crossed paths once, Hua Mi had quite a vivid impression of him.

It's not often one sees an elder brother, especially a prince, sulking with his younger sister just because he lost at cards.

The first impression of this prince was that of an unreliable figure, appearing more like a carefree aristocrat with no grand ambitions, content with a life of pleasure.

Yet here he was, seated on the throne.

It was astonishing not only for Hua Mi but also for Karen.

Evidently, even Karen, with her understanding of her elder brother, had never expected him to become the heir.

Things had unfolded beyond their expectations.

After a brief silence

"The choice is yours," Hua Mi said to Karen, visibly relieved.

It was akin to being geared up in a duel, prepared to fight, only to suddenly be told that you're merely an observer, no need to fight, you can return to the spectator stands.

The sense of urgency lessened considerably.

Their perspective became more composed.

Now, the pressure rested on Karen.

She had a little over two minutes left.

Should she let Prince Brad become the heir or seize this fleeting opportunity to elevate herself, bypassing Brad?

It all depended on her decision.

"..."

Karen looked troubled, furrowing her brows.

Hua Mi remained quietly by her side, not interrupting.

He believed in the princess's capabilities.

He believed she could make the right choice based on her own rationality.

Compared to Karen, he was at best a novice in such political matters.

Misguided advice might just mess things up further.

Of course, deep down, this novice hoped for Karen to take the throne.

That way, he could peacefully farm within the boundaries of the Turan Kingdom in the future.

Lost in his thoughts, Hua Mi suddenly felt a tug on his clothes.

Turning, he saw Karen, head bowed in contemplation, while one hand tugged at his clothing, quietly asking, "What do you think I should do?"

"..."

Since she sought advice, staying silent wasn't an option.

In truth, Hua Mi had a few immature thoughts.

For instance, if she couldn't make a decision, it might be better to stand alongside Prince Brad.

When the old king came in, he'd see two people on the throne.

He'd naturally assume the prophecy meant he could choose between these two children.

Thus, relinquishing the decision to the old king.

But Hua Mi felt this indecisive approach was unsuitable for a ruler.

To become a sovereign, she at least needed to be resolute and firm.

So, Hua Mi suggested, "Set aside unnecessary considerations and distractions. Listen to what your heart truly desires. What do you genuinely want? What do you truly aim to achieve?"

Karen looked towards the throne's end, her eyes flickering, her form wavering.

It was evident she was engaged in a fierce internal struggle.

So much so that her spiritual form seemed unstable.

"Something must be wrong... It can't be the Second Prince."

"He doesn't even want to succeed, let alone have any plans or capabilities..."

"If he becomes the king, he'll surely slack off... What will Turan's future become?"

"Moreover, the elves to the west are watching closely. War is imminent. At this critical juncture, the Second Prince doesn't even understand the cards, let alone leading soldiers in battle. How can he share the king's burden?"

Karen reasoned aloud, organizing her thoughts clearly.

Clearly, she was mentally preparing herself.

Although Hua Mi didn't want to interrupt her train of thought, he had to remind her, "There's about a minute left before the king's personal consciousness appears."

"..."

Under immense pressure, Karen seemed tense, her spiritual form visibly trembling.

Hua Mi truly feared she might not endure, leading to a collapse of her spiritual form.

And just as he provided the reminder, a figure materialized on the side of the hall.

In merely two or three seconds, the outline had taken shape into a vague human form.

Tall and robust, it was the King of Turan.

Faster than anticipated!

Hua Mi realized this might be due to the individual's spiritual strength or the unique nature of this divination dream.

In any case, the king's spiritual form appeared earlier than planned in the dream.

Time was running out.

"You have to decide right away."

Hua Mi swiftly suggested, "If you truly can't make up your mind, consider standing beside him and let the king make the choice."

"..."

Karen fell silent for a second.

Her drooping hands suddenly clenched into fists, her form stopping its tremors in an instant.

Lifting her gaze, she fixed it determinedly on the throne ahead.

"I want to become Turan's queen!"

As she spoke, she began moving towards the throne.

"I don't need any excuses or disguises!"

"I will elevate Turan to the pinnacle of the Western Continent with my principles!"

With a leap, her spiritual form ascended the high steps.

Taking a step forward, she stood near the throne, facing Prince Brad seated on it.

"Therefore, I ask you to step down, elder brother!"

"Huh?"

In the dream, Prince Brad looked up at her, a confused look mixed with a bit of untainted innocence in his eyes.

Next second.

A merciless strike deformed Prince Brad's head almost entirely. Muscles convulsed on his face, saliva spraying out

"Whoa!"

Karen spun around, delivering a swift kick that sent Prince Brad flying off the throne.

Simultaneously, her swift reflexes grabbed the falling crown.

Prince Brad's slender figure traced an elegant arc in the air, crashing heavily against a nearby ornate pillar before hitting the ground.

"Very impressive, full of spirit!"

Hua Mi mentally praised Karen's spiritual form.

This swift and coherent combination was eye-opening.

That's the difference between dreams and reality.

In reality, limited by physical abilities, one can only achieve so much.

Yet, in dreams, a little push and the limit of the spiritual form could be significantly raised.

Hua Mi hurried to the scene, pulling Prince Brad behind the pillar without waiting for him to get up, silencing him by covering his mouth, entangling him tightly with hands and feet.

A firm resolve!

"Mmm, mmm, mmm"

Prince Brad struggled desperately.

But to no avail.

He, a pampered and ambitionless figure, couldn't break free from the bindings of a spiritual form several times stronger than an ordinary person.

Hua Mi's spiritual form was like an ironclad prison, firmly restraining him.

Almost simultaneously.

The old king's spiritual form had already taken shape.

Unlike Karen, who had misconceptions about herself in the dream, this old king's image in the dream almost mirrored his appearance in reality.

Clad in red robes, hand resting on a sword.

He looked towards the throne at the end of the hall.

He saw Karen sitting straight on the throne, hands resting on its sides, wearing a golden crown.

The old king wore no unnecessary expressions. After a pause in the hall, he slowly approached.

His burly figure halted before Karen, and on his stern and cold face, there was an

unexpected hint of warmtha gentle smile. He extended a broad and reassuring hand, lightly resting it on Karen's shoulder.

"Didn't expect it to be you."

Karen lifted her head, a glimmer in her eyes. "Father, I will lead Turan to glory!"
