Stronghold In The Apocalypse

Chapter 197: Meeting

Chapter 197: Meeting

"Hie~!" the only survivor, the woman dropped on the ground in fear, as she started peeing on herself, with her face already covered in tears and snot.

"Please, don't kill me! T-they forced me to do it!" the woman pleaded between her sobs.

*Bang!*

The woman had a new decoration on her body...a bullet in her head. The woman fell back on the ground, with shock written all over her face.

"Hmmp! Are you taking me for a fool?" Leo snorted, as he put his Desert Eagle back into its holster.

"You must have already killed a lot doing this trick, but you should've already prepared yourself the moment you failed, and that is..death" Leo muttered as he looked down at the woman, before turning around and started looting their things.

Leo pulled out a sling from one of them and started putting things inside, like medicine, some pain killers and their weapons inside, even though they clearly don't fit.

"This weapon surely is interesting" Leo said as he took the boomstick shotgun for himself, and when he inspected it, he immediately realized that the bullets used is actually the balls from a Ball bearing, and the weapon is clearly similar to those flintlock guns.

"What an ingenious way of thinking. How did they even made this thing?" Leo smiled as he felt the person who created this is surely clever and a genius in his own right.

"If this person was the one who created this then he's an absolute idiot for wasting his talent into doing something as stupid as tricking lone survivors" Leo said as he looked down at the weapon's former owner.

After that small event, Leo continued his short journey filled with ease.

"The walls are pretty decent" Leo commented as the first thing he noticed were the erected walls made from galvanized roof, planks of hardwoods and some concrete wall, especially near the health center, this wall covers the entire church compound, the nearby covered court and the city health center.

Leo was currently observing the camp from a distance, while crouching on top of a three story building. There were at least five hundred meters in between them.

But then Leo's eyes suddenly narrowed, as his right hand suddenly swiped in front of his face, and on his hand is a freaking arrow! He freaking caught an arrow!

Leo suddenly turned towards a direction, as he felt someone is watching him from there, and whoever is watching him right now, he showed that person his most beautiful smile, and then he snapped the arrow in half, as he just remembered that he's wearing a cloak!

*****

"He actually caught it!?" Lhea shouted in surprise as she observe the person through the binoculars.

"You're saying he caught it!?" John said surprised, because he knows just how terrifying his wife is, even he wouldn't be able to catch the arrow fired from her.

Looking at her, John still can't believe that she became his woman.

Well, it was understandable, after all, they had been through and thick together, when a sudden horde of over ten thousand zombies besieged their small city, and it forced all of the human settlements here to unite and resist together against the horde.

A lot of mutants and ordinary survivors that day died, and of those mutants, only six managed to survive the ordeal. Including him, there is Lhea and the former nun Lesley living in this survivor camp, and he married both of them.

The other two are leading their own survivor camps, the one near the river and the other camp is located in the outskirts of the city near the forest.

"I don't know what happened but he surely caught it" Lhea nodded as her face turned grim, after all, she used half of her strength behind that arrow.

"Damn!" John was amazed even though it could be a potential enemy.

"Tell the men to prepare for a fight" Lhea ordered, she wanted them to be prepared in case an attack happens.

*****

"Welp, useless hiding now" Leo muttered as he slowly stood up from his position, and through his improved eyesight, he finally saw the person who shot the arrow, with the intent to kill him.

Leo immediately jumped off the building, and landed on the ground, causing a small pit below him as dust billowed around him.

Leo then started walking towards the survivor camp and saw that the security had become tighter, but he just smiled.

*****

"Hmmm? Easily catching your arrow, and jumping from that three story building like it was nothing, even I got injured in my legs when I did, and here he is, just walking like nothing happened. It seems he's powerful mutant" John commented as he watched Leo's every move through the binoculars.

"What are you chances if you fight him then?" Lhea turned towards him and asked.

"Forty percent" John said as he bitterly smiled.

"That low?" Lhea looked surprised at first, but she immediately realized why.

"Uhmm.. but if we join forces, then we'll have seventy percent chance, and if Lesley join us, then we'll have eighty percent chance of winning against. Of course, that 's just a conjecture on my part as we still don't know how powerful he or she is" John told her while he readied his weapon, a sledgehammer.

"Go and call over Lesley to come here" John said to one of his subordinates.

"Yes boss" the man immediately got down from the rampart and hurried towards a house beside the church.

Leo was walking through the highway road and stopped in the middle of the road, just a hundred meters away from the walls of the survivor camp.

"How are you guys doing so far!?" Leo yelled towards them, while waving his hand, he wanted to sound as friendly as possible, as his purpose to come here is not to fight.

At the wall.

John and the rest didn't expect that this cloaked figure is actually a foreigner, as they looked at each other a bit bewildered at this.

(Leo had been conversing in FIlipino the moment he met those six bandits back at the mall) - Author's Note.

"What do you want?" John yelled back in English.

"I didn't come here with malicious intent!" Leo yelled back, as he took off his cloak to show some sincerity, revealing his western appearance to them.

"So handsome" one of the women standing at the rampart wall suddenly muttered to herself, followed by another three women, except for Lhea and Lesley as they didn't even have a sliver of change in their countenance.

"Yeah right! You've been watching us! And as far as I know there are no westerners around here!" John sneered.

"Of course! I came all the way from Baguio City!" Leo immediately made up a white lie on the spot.

'Don't underestimate the knowledge of a former native!' Leo snickered inside.

"Baguio?"

John, Lhea and the others looked at each other in surprise. After all, they did hear the news that the military base at Baguio City is still intact and running.

"What do you think?" John asked the two girls.

"Not sure, its better we go down and meet him in front of the gate. I doubt he'd cause trouble with our numbers" Lhea suggested.

"I agree with her" Lesley seconded as she was also thinking the same thing, as they wouldn't know if the person is lying if they don't come face to face.

John nodded and then yelled, "Let's meet in front of the gate then! We'd like to ask some questions"

"Sure!" Leo showed them a thumbs up as he slowly walked over the gates.

John and the two girls also came down from jumping off the wall, after all, their walls are only as high as over five meters, and they waited for Leo to arrive before them.

But as Leo's figure slowly became clearer, they notice in shock that he is actually carrying a huge sword on his back, with two pistols strapped on both side of his legs.

"It's clear, this person is powerful" John said seriously, then he continued, "Make sure to keep your eyes on him, we don't want anything to happen. Just in case, move back a little bit Lesley.

Lesley nodded as she slowly retreated backwards from them.

Anyone would be shocked if they saw someone carrying a huge sword that's even bigger than you are, and especially that Leo is over six feet tall, you can already imagine how big that sword on his back is.
